Thought for the day! (Lives of the saints)

John Owen was a Church of England Minister, chaplain to Oliver Cromwell, a Vice President of Oxford University and one of the foremost Puritan Divines. He wrote extensively and intensively and preached to politicians. Interestingly, he said that he wished he had Bunyan’s communication skills, of being able to speak to the common man, which Bunyan’s everyday illustrations did. Both John Owen and John Bunyan had necessary gifts, expressions of the multi varied grace of God. There are gifts that you have uniquely; “having gifts that differ according to God’s grace, let us use them” (Romans 12:6)
