Thought for the day! (Lives of the saints)

When Oswald Chambers counselled a person, he would often give them a reading list of a number of books on an array of topics. In a person’s search for guidance, Chambers would not tell them what to do but would set out the options before them……Then privately he would pray that they make the right choice.
That wisdom avoided coercion but could result in the counselee’s maturity. Whilst we can and should exhort others, we also need to allow people space to make their own choices.
