David’s desire to seek God’s face, follows on from Moses’ desire to see God’s glory. This seeking finds an answer in 2 Corinthians 4:6: “for God,who said “Let light shine out of darkness”, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the GLORY OF GOD in the FACE of Jesus Christ.”
Jesus, the (visible) image of the invisible God, reveals God to us (who no man can see or has seen… John 1:18-think back to Exodus 33).“For He who has seen me has seen the Father”. (John 14:9) The God-Man makes God known and does it as a Man, in ways we can understand.
We are privileged. Many saints and prophets in OT times looked forward for the fulfilment of the Messiah. Do we realise the fullness we have in Jesus Christ?!!
